| Lightweight head-to-toe individual protection, onboard computer array, variable feed power sources. Based on the designs of reknown Japanese scientist Mirai Ki, ANGELCorps field operatives wear Standard Nanotech Armored Protection designated as “SNAP-Gear,” © a lightweight tactical uniforming system that employs a latticework of interlaced carbon-plasma nanotubes providing a shielding 100 times stronger than the strongest high carbon steel. A single thread-sized strand of plasma-carbon nanotubing could easily lift two cars. The fibers are 50 times tougher to break than Neo-Kevlar.Plasma-carbon nanotubes are nested within each other in a sliding rotating near-frictionless whorl-pattern that is able to absorb and disperse impacts laterally across the entire surface area of the suit while still providing ample flexibility for a full range of human movement. Using the world’s foremost thin-film coating nanotechnology, the suit hosts 50 stacked layers, each a few a nanometers thick, handling memory, life-support, networking and armored protection. A voice-activated onboard computer ties into tactical local and wide-area networks using a “heads-up” holographic transparent 17-inch display panel while it monitors its wearer’s physiology. The armor has been demonstrated to far exceed Type IV Armor Level Performance Standards for ballistic and anti-fragmentation protection. Scale of Penetration and Blunt Trauma Protection has not been upgraded to encompass these latest technologies. Currently this armor is known to protect against .30 caliber M2 armor piercing bullets with nominal masses of 21.6 (332 gr) at a reference velocity of 1000 m/s (3260 ft/s +/- 50 ft/s). It also provides multi-hit protection against lesser threats featured in Types I through IV. |
